Mary S
I listened to something on NPR's Fresh Air Tuesday that involved two therapists talking about their own kids' problems, and how they realized that they had been treating their kids in ways that were exacerbating the problem rather than part of the solution. Wow, therapists who can admit their mistakes! There may be hope for the profession yet. Edited May 29, 2019 by Mary S
here today
Very interesting! Sounds like they are learning something from real life, as opposed to consulting room life.
disequilibrium1
While I have many disagreements with my upbringing, I’m thankful to go through college before 25 percent of kids arrived on psych meds, and the leaving home was treated like some arduous process. We went to class and had a good time and didn’t worry about “support services.” Did I miss something? At risk of being harsh, these people’s intense focus on their kids still sounded all about the parents.
